The US dollar takes more losses

The US dollar took down more losses against most major currency pairs on Thursday due to high excpectations  on an increase of government stimulus plan to prop up the ailing US economy. By the end of  wednesday the US dollar had fallen close to 1% against the EUR to 1.3930.

Ask Price/Offer Price

The ask price (right quote display) is the price that market makers are willing to pay. If you think that the EUR value will increase then you can choose to buy it for USD at the price displayed in the ask quote.

Base Currency

The base currency is the first currency listed in any currency pair. Its value is determined against the opposite currency’s value. For instance  if the rate of the USD/JPY pair is 82.20, then the USD is the base currency and it is worth 82.20JPY.

The term call option has been used for defining the purchase of an underlying stock or currency, but at a certain price, also known as the strike price, which has been predetermined.
